Redox reaction of KMnO4 in presence of pectin as a natural polymer was studied cyclic voltammetically in 0.1 M NaOH at 296.85K and scan rate 0.1 v/s. Glassy carbon electrode was used as working electrode, Ag/AgCl reference electrode and platinum wire auxillary electrode were used. The detection of divalent manganese ion was used to detect the reduction oxidation reaction affected by the used polymer in the alkaline 0.1M NaOH solutions. Different kinetic and thermodynamic parameters were obtained at different time measurements by the oxidation of the used natural polymer with KMnO4 and the obtained data were discussed.
