Abstract

Thin-film samples of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), Chitosan (CS), and their equimass polymeric blend in addition to other samples containing variable content of 2-(4-Hydroxyphenylhydrazono)-N-(4-sulfamoylphenyl)-cyanoacetamide crystal were successfully synthesized. Synthesized samples were examined via traditional spectroscopic techniques including Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR) and UV/visible measurements. Antimicrobial studies against gram-positive, gram-negative, pathogenic yeast were tested for ll studied samples. Obtained data shows a higher activity index for samples with higher drug content.
